It was still not daylight outside when I woke up at 4 am on Saturday June 22. The little birds were singing, just as they did the evening before as I went to bed ridiculously early. There’s just something about waking up in the middle of the night, getting your things together and leaving the house while everyone else is asleep, while most of the city is still asleep.
My destination was Rotterdam and the 65th CHIO Rotterdam. A mere two hours on a train and I had reached my destination, almost. A tramride, a confused walk in a lovely Dutch landscape. And there I was – at the show grounds of the Chio.
